# Date and Time Fields

The **DATE & TIME** tab contains field types for recording dates, times, and
timestamps.

- **[Date time picker](date-time-picker.md)** — The recommended date-and-time
  field. Captures date and time, and can optionally show a "Now" button for
  one-tap capture of the current timestamp.
- **[Date picker](date-picker.md)** — Date-only selection for administrative
  records, permits, and excavation dates.
- **[Month picker](month-picker.md)** — Month-and-year selection for records
  where exact dates are unknown or unnecessary.
- **[Date and Time with Now button](date-time-now.md)** — Deprecated as a
  separate field type; existing fields remain supported. Use **Date time
  picker** with **Show "Now" button** enabled for new forms.
